Released by Lindale ISD Education Foundation:

RealEdge Real Estate-Lindale Presents God Country and Rock-n-Roll: A Celebratory Concert Benefiting the Lindale ISD Education Foundation will be held this Saturday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lindale ISD Performing Arts Center located at 920 E. Hubbard Street.

Tickets for reserved seating are $20 and can be purchased at the Lindale ISD Administration Building located at 505 Pierce Street or online at www.lindalefoundation.org.  Tickets may also be purchased at RealEdge Real Estate-Lindale at 1511 S. Main Street or at I-20 Team Real Estate at 17056 I-20 West. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.

Proceeds from the concert will support innovative classroom projects through funds provided by the Lindale ISD Education Foundation to the district.

The concert will include performances by Lindale ISD students, legendary rock-n-roll band The Big Beats and 2012 Olympic performers The Joshua Experience.  The Joshua Experience will begin the concert with a performance of big band style gospel music. The Big Beats, once featured on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand, will perform rock-n-roll hits from the 50’s and 60’s and will be joined on stage by Lindale Junior High School theater students.  Both groups and the E.J. Moss Intermediate School choir will close the show with a patriotic tribute to East Texas veterans.

Some of the tickets purchased by sponsors will be donated to local veteran groups to attend the concert.  KLTV 7’s Emmy Award-winning journalist Joan Hallmark will serve as mistress of ceremonies.

The evening will begin with an open house for foundation donors.  Donors will be able to view grant projects funded by the Lindale ISD Education Foundation at 5:30 p.m. in the high school wing adjacent to the performing arts center.  Students and teachers who benefited from the grants will lead demonstrations.  Beginning at 6:30 p.m., the Foundation will unveil two plaques honoring the Founding Partners of the foundation and the 2010 donors.  These plaques will be mounted in the entrance of the center.

The Lindale ISD Alumni Association, an organization that falls under the foundation’s umbrella, will also put on display for the first time the Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Service Award portraits and plaques.  In October, the first-ever Lindale ISD Distinguished Alumni Award was given to Mr. Elton Caldwell and the Distinguished Service Award was given to Mr. Bob Ashcraft.
